Sharing reports

Use the share bar, desktop sidebar, highlight-to-share, and social posts with pre-filled text to distribute your published reports.

Sharing reports

Published reports are built to be easy to pass around: one-click copy, sensible defaults for social networks, and tools for quoting exact passages when you want to highlight a finding -- not just the whole page.

Share bar

The share bar groups the actions people use most:

  • Copy link -- Puts the public report URL on the clipboard so you can paste it anywhere.
  • X (Twitter) -- Opens a share intent with pre-filled text tailored to the report (you can edit before posting).
  • LinkedIn -- Same idea: a prepared share with context you can adjust.
  • Hacker News -- Submits or shares with pre-filled text suited to technical audiences.

Pre-filled text saves time and keeps messaging consistent; you're always one edit away from putting it in your own voice.

Sticky share sidebar (desktop)

On desktop layouts, a sticky share sidebar stays visible as readers scroll with quick access to X, LinkedIn, and Copy link. It stays in reach without scrolling back to the top -- handy for long synthesis documents where someone reads halfway through before deciding to share.

Exact placement follows your window size. On smaller screens, sharing collapses into the same actions without the persistent sidebar.

Highlight-to-share

Highlight-to-share is for the moment you want to quote a specific sentence or paragraph:

  1. Select text in the report -- at least 10 characters.
  2. A small tooltip appears with quick actions: X, LinkedIn, and Copy.

Use it when a single statistic or caveat is the headline, not the entire document.

Social sharing with pre-filled text

Networks differ, but the pattern is the same: Parallect pre-fills a sensible title or summary so you're not staring at an empty compose box. You can still edit the post for tone, audience, or hashtags. For professional contexts, a quick pass to add why you're sharing often beats the default alone.

This page covers sharing published reports publicly. To share a private thread with a specific person (before or instead of publishing), see Thread tools > Direct sharing.
