Managing members and invites

Invite teammates by email, understand owner, admin, and member roles, remove or leave, and manage pending invites.

Managing members and invites

Organizations are only as good as the people in them. This guide covers inviting by email, the accept flow, owner, admin, and member permissions, removing people or leaving, and resending or revoking invites.

Inviting by email

Owners (and anyone with invite permission) send invites by email address. Enter the address, send the invite, and Parallect delivers instructions for joining your org.

You don't need to know whether someone already has a Parallect account -- the flow handles both new and existing users.

Invite flow

Invites work through a secure link:

  1. Email -- The recipient gets a message with a link to review the invitation.
  2. Accept -- They sign up for a new account or log in to an existing one, then accept membership in your organization.

Until they complete acceptance, they're not a member -- only pending.

Roles: owner, admin, and member

RoleTypical capabilities
OwnerBilling and subscriptions, member management, invites, org-level settings, and ownership transfer. Full administrative control.
AdminInvite members and assist with team management. Cannot manage billing or transfer ownership.
MemberUse org resources -- run research against the shared balance and participate in team workspaces -- without administrative control.

Owners are the trustees of payment and membership; admins help manage the team; members are contributors inside the shared workspace.

Removing members and leaving

  • Removing someone -- An owner (or admin, if applicable) can remove a member from the org. That person loses access to org workspaces and shared billing; their personal account remains.
  • Leaving -- A member can leave the organization if they no longer need team access. Owners may need to transfer ownership before leaving if they're the sole owner -- follow in-app prompts.

Removing access is immediate for the org's workspaces; download or reassign anything critical before offboarding someone who owned work.

Resending and revoking invites

Pending invites don't last forever:

  • Resend -- If someone missed the email, resend so they get a fresh message.
  • Revoke -- If the invite is wrong or no longer needed, revoke it. Issue a new invite if plans change.
